Landscaper in Drouin

Drouin started life as a railway camp on the Gippsland line in the late 1870s. Today it's one of West Gippsland's fastest-growing towns and home to the Baw Baw Shire offices. New estates keep spreading around the edges of town, and that means a lot of new homes with unfinished yards. It's a bit further out than most of our area, but it's an easy run down the Princes Freeway.

On the way to Drouin

We're based in Upper Beaconsfield, and we service the towns along the Princes Highway and Freeway on the way out here: Pakenham, Nar Nar Goon, Tynong, Garfield, Bunyip, Longwarry, Drouin and Warragul. We've recently built retaining walls for a shed pad on an acreage block in Bunyip, so working out this way is nothing new for us.

New-estate yards in Drouin

New Drouin blocks usually have the same issues as new estates closer to Melbourne: compacted fill over heavy soil, a level change at the fence, and no drainage plan. We take it in a sensible order:

  1. Levels and boundary retaining walls
  2. Drainage, so water goes to the stormwater, not the slab
  3. Paving or concrete for the alfresco area and side paths
  4. Turf, natural or synthetic, plus garden beds, mulch and irrigation

Rural and lifestyle blocks around Drouin

Out of town, the rolling farmland of West Gippsland brings different jobs: house-garden surrounds, shed pads and concrete slabs, rock walls and drainage for long driveways.

Before you call

It helps to have your house plans or a site plan handy, along with any estate design guidelines and a rough idea of budget. If we can see the block, a few photos also help us plan the visit.

Gippsland weather

Drouin is noticeably wetter and greener than Melbourne's south-east. Hard surfaces need proper falls, and turf and garden beds need good drainage underneath.
