Landscaping in Warragul

Warragul is the hub of West Gippsland, set between the Strzelecki Ranges and the Baw Baw Plateau, on what were once called the Warragul Hills. It's dairy country, green for much of the year, and the town has a mix of older homes on hilly streets near the centre and newer estates on the outskirts. That mix of hills, rain and growth is exactly where good landscaping pays off.

On the way to Warragul

We're based in Upper Beaconsfield, and we service the towns along the Princes Highway and Freeway on the way out here: Pakenham, Nar Nar Goon, Tynong, Garfield, Bunyip, Longwarry, Drouin and Warragul. We've recently built retaining walls for a shed pad on an acreage block in Bunyip, so working out this way is nothing new for us.

Hilly town blocks

Plenty of Warragul streets slope, and so do the backyards. Jobs that help:

  • Retaining walls to create level lawns and garden beds, in timber, concrete sleeper, block or rock
  • Steps and paths that stay safe in the wet
  • Decks to create flat outdoor space off the house

New estates on the edge of town

New Warragul homes often need the full backyard: levels, boundary retaining, drainage, an alfresco area, turf and garden beds. Doing it in the right order, with retaining and drainage before turf, saves paying to redo work later.

Rain, rain and more rain

Gippsland gets more rain than Melbourne's south-east, so drainage isn't an extra here. It's part of the job. Ag drains behind walls, falls on paving, and free-draining bases under turf all help the work last.

Plan it properly

Whatever the block, we start by looking at levels, access and where the water goes, and then give you a written quote.

FAQ

Do you service Warragul? Yes. Warragul is part of our service area, along with the towns along the highway on the way out. There's no minimum job size.

Our backyard slopes and stays wet. Where do we start? With drainage and levels. Once water is under control, everything else is easier to build and lasts longer.
